Name: capetown
Advantages: Find work in no time Disadvantages: Agencies never give up calling you. After I found the contract. I had to change telephone numbers, as the calls did not stop.

Name: willf
Advantages: lots of jobs Disadvantages: they're not all real WELL jobserve was my companies weapon of choice. Every morning we would post 'dummy' jobs on the site, and watch the emails flood in. Often not only did these give us heaps of desperate job hunters to pump for info, they also gave us direct contact details of important people inside companies by including references...

Name: AmeriTrini
Advantages: Large resource of job adverts Disadvantages: Search facility could be improved Jobserve is little more than a pooling site for recruitment agencies, but that is not a complaint. Hundreds of agencies upload their database of jobs to Jobserve everyday, enabling you to search across all at once. The on-line search facilty is simple but not as flexible as it could be. However, you can download the Jobserve database and use Access or some other tool to search just how you like.

Name: Siam
Advantages: Plenty of jobs, updated very regularly Disadvantages: Dated layout, some dubious content Jobserve is one of many job search engines on the internet - though it was the original and is probably the biggest. These "job boards" can be considered the modern day equivalent of classified ads that appear in the local paper.

Name: M.A.C.Doug
Advantages: Lots of jobs, clear, simple Disadvantages: Fake listings?, searching too simple, all agency It is always good to keep up with what is out there on the market. However, I have applied for jobs from this site and have had no success. I don't know of anyone who has ever got a job from jobserve, so I question the validity of some of the listings.

Name: ezodisy
Advantages: It loads quickly Disadvantages: It was hard to use, unattractive and didn't help me at all I tried using JobServe to find me a new job late last month - I clicked onto the site and tried to use a search; it seemed that I didn't get any relevant responses. It could have been me, but I found that the site was hard to use, not very attractive, and overall proved of no use to me at all.

Name: rapaduski1
Advantages: quick and easy to use Disadvantages: none it covers a very wide range of different job categories and is easy to navigate if you know what youre looking for. there is a vast selection of jobs which has the advantage of being constantly updated all day every day.

Name: nomoretoxic
Advantages: Easy to use, quick, efficient Disadvantages: None Jobserve comes highly recommended from me.

Name: craazy
Advantages: Brilliant site Disadvantages: None I have to agree with the other opinions on this site, this is where i managed to land my current position after having spent 9 years in the Royal Navy. This site is probably the best in its field for IT postions and includes both contract and permanent jobs.

Name: permanentjaun
Advantages: quick, easy to use The positions they have on the website are as many as you could image and I could alwasy find something new everyday. I've tried stepstone and others but couldn't really find many jobs there. OK, the design of Jobserve might be a little bit boring but it's fast and easy to use. It's not really a trendy website but definitely a very speedy one. I don't care about the website design but care more about the efficiency and quantity.

Name: Tw0eleven
Advantages: Lots of vacancies Disadvantages: Mostly (if not all) vacancies are advertised by agencies Yes, Jobserve has many vacancies advertised.. but from my own experience it doesn't really get you very far.. Most (if not all) the vacancies are advertised by recruitment agencies. Which makes me see that all that you are doing is actually registering with an agency. I've tried to apply for a few vacancies (about 4 in the last few weeks) and not one replied back..!!

Name: Big Wave Rider
Advantages: Many agencies, and opportunities Disadvantages: too many collectors There are lots of adverts on Jobserve. I'm not doubting there a valid jobs on the site, but most are just to collect C.V's. You call or mail the agencies, and before they ask or do anything they are requesting you C.V.

Name: goodthings
Advantages: Fast, reliable, Updated daily Disadvantages: All job opportunities point to agencies, not directly to employers his is the best job search engine that I have used for the last year or so. The search results were very accurate at the starting but one year down the line it throws outs lots of irrelevant jobs too. The download speed of this site is very fast. This site provides links to lots of recruitment agencies but lacks features
↑ Back to top
Name: BenQ
Advantages: quick simple interface Disadvantages: spurious job ads with limited descriptions
↑ Back to top
Name: lillelise
Advantages: Very good site for IT jobs Disadvantages: Needs improvement in terms of features. I have found this site very useful from my experience. I would definitely recommend using this site for IT aspirants.
Name: MaMood
Advantages: Plenty of jobs there (although I doubt that many are not genuine adverts) Disadvantages: Horrible website design, not user-friendly You can register your details on Jobserve and once that is done you may upload your CV to the database and add your own search strings in the database. You can specify emails of jobs to be sent to you whereby the jobs are results based on your specified search strings
↑ Back to top
Name: SeekingLight
Advantages: setup of email searches Disadvantages: does it work, appalling lack of response from advertisers I have been using Jobserve on and off for nearly a year and have had no success. The setup of searches and receiving emails on a daily basis is nice BUT does it work? Not in my opinion. Having emailled a large number of the advertisers I have had zero response.

Name: Spsantos
Advantages: New jobs in your mailbox everyday Disadvantages: No more lazy mornings when you're back at work Jobs arrive daily in your e-mail inbox without you having to go to the website and repeatedly make the same search by re-entering all the same information. This site concentrates of employment opportunities in IT. So this would be of little or no use to anyone else.
Name: capitalist88
Advantages: Large selection of IT vacancies Disadvantages: None This is an IT recruitment website where searches can be performed by job title and area and sorted into latest job. There is a huge range of jobs as the majority of IT recruitment agencies submit vacanies onto this site.

Name: semar
Advantages: Lots of jobs, lots of agents Disadvantages: trying to get the agents to stop calling! Overall this is an excellent service that I keep going back to. It has proved a reliable source of continued employment for me over the years.
Name: willf
Advantages: central source for IT jobs Disadvantages: Emails can be too large Job serve is the first place anyone in the it industry should look for work almost all recruitment agencys advertise their vacancies on here. The search tool is very good and brings up relevant jobs that you are looking for. With the new log in tool you can save searches, add jobs to a basket and apply online you can store various CVs on the site and cover letters to apply for positions.
Name: arthurb
Advantages: Very good Disadvantages: none The best thing to do is sign up for it's free email service. #They then send you email with all the jobs for that day. Then it is up to you to send your emails to the recruitment companies.

Name: makey2u
Advantages: Lots of jobs Disadvantages: Most of them want lots of experience, can be difficult for a new starter Of course jobserve will not give you a job, but it will make hunting one down a lot easier.
Name: opie999
Advantages: good search facilities and e-mailed lists Disadvantages: agency idiots may well call you Jobserve has been my first point of call for some time when job hunting. I have been both a permy and also a contractor and I found this the best source in both cases. You can get a list e-mailed to you each day of all new vacancies but be careful to filter your list ot you will get so many jobs you will spend ages findind the ones you want.
Name: linuxtroll
Advantages: Fast, Easy to Use Disadvantages: Too Many Phantom Jobs jobserve is full of what is known in the trade as "phantom jobs", this explains previous reviewers comments about receiving no replies.

Name: brainjt
Advantages: New jobs in your mailbox everyday Disadvantages: No more lazy mornings when you're back at work Jobs arrive daily in your e-mail inbox without you having to go to the website and repeatedly make the same search by re-entering all the same information.

Name: Lowen
The listings are good but considering this company was started by computer geeks, the quality of the site is poor in terms of fucntionality. This is the only site I know that got hit by the Y2K bug! If something goes wrong and you need support - forget it! Your emails will go unanswered.
Name: mphpopular
Advantages: Speed, number of jobs Disadvantages: So popular, the best contract jobs go quickly This has to be the best recruitment site for the IT business. It certainly seems to be the one most of the agencies use. The searches are really fast, it makes the distinction between contract and permanent jobs, and it is well laid out. If you want info about a particular agency, it's directory is second to none, although every job contains the relevant email and phone number of the agency/consultant to contact
↑ Back to top
Name: simoncs
Advantages: Simple to use, excellent selection of positions & agencies, fast Disadvantages: Doesn't beat having contacts observe is a simple, text based job site that serves the IT industry. It has an efficient (if limited) search engine but is bang up to date and has thousands of positions, as well as listing all the IT recruitment agencies. You can sign up for e-mail alerts - this is the best way, because you can limit the amount of positions you see and it looks like you're just reading an e-mail - very useful when you're at work! You can download the entire database if you want
↑ Back to top
Name: PippiNole
Advantages: lots of vacancies Disadvantages: experience essential he site has hundreds of vacancies which are all well paid. However, from past experience, it really is only worth applying if you have at least six months relevant experience in the field you're applying for.
Name: bullrock
Advantages: ease of use, navigation, comprehensiveness Disadvantages: search facility I found jobserve to be a very useful, accessable and convenient way to search for the right job. It's very easy to understand and navigate, its simplictic layout removes any obscurity that other sites seem to be drowned with. It has very little in terms of advertisements that divert you when conducting your search which is a very beneficial factor.
Name: jharteam
Advantages: User friendly Disadvantages: CV Hunters There are lots of adverts on Jobserve. I'm not doubting there a valid jobs on the site, but most are just to collect C.V's. You call or mail the agencies, and before they ask or do anything they are requesting you C.V.

Name: acidguy
Advantages: breadth, depth, perfect for IT consultants Disadvantages: IT-centric When I got shafted over some money at a company I was working at, I decided to start out contracting on my own.
Name: mbqb11
Advantages: Fantastic site Disadvantages: Not that good if you live off the beaten track he amount of jobs posted on Jobserve's site on a daily (esp. weekday basis) is amazing.
Name: Siam
Advantages: quick, easy to use, loads of jobs Disadvantages: hmm - can't think of any Job Serve seems to have the most number of suitable jobs for me (I'm an IT consultant) and the search engine came back with accurate results - it stripped out much of the nonsense jobs that other search engines give you. I even found quite a few in my home town
↑ Back to top
Name: jon clogger
