Monster.com is extremely cumbersome ad difficult to use. Formatting is lost, account information has to be input again and again...the list goes on and on. It is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!

I posted my CV and within a couple of days I had 4 interviews arranged, all for jobs appropriate to my skills. By the end of the process I had 6 job offers, all at a salary at least 10k higher than I was on! I loved the experience, as it was a great confidence boost. Yes, most of the calls you get are from agencies, so you don't get all the jobs that are out there, but the Monster job site is a great addition to your job search 'toolkit'.

Although I haven't found a job via Monster, I have been exposed to many career alternatives I overlooked in the past. Their resume builder is particulary impressive.

They will send you TONS of emails that don't have anything to do with the job you are looking for or even location you are in at the moment, and I mean AN|YTHING. it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get rid of these emails - you have to LOG IN to their site

I have had nothing but good luck w/ Monster. I have been on the job seekers forum for over a year now and have met some spectacular people. I am also been on the employer side of it too. I have never had a problem w/ receiving a resume, although they do not tell you if you are. The price that an employer has to pay to have one password (can only be used by one person or you are double charged)anually is outrageous though.

As far as being user-friendly, this is a great site, but the main issue I have (which is a big issue for all the employment sites that I have visited), they seem greatly bombarded with a TON of ads from employment agencies, not from the companies themselves

People call this toll free number frustrated with the service Monster provides with promise of good job opportunities. You pay for services, but Monster takes your money, then you call the helpline they frustrate you first by hanging up on you, or hold the line and pretend they cant hear and later abuse and release a call.

Monster.com, rather I should say Monster Group of websites in doing great. Although, I haven’t had a chance to get to use their services till now, I strongly recommend this.

they have slowly been letting in scam companies to flood the job database with crap. They are also now trying to sell resume upgrades. Things like bolding and what have you that is supposed to make your resume stand out above the rest. The site is very easy to navigate. You can sort your job searches very easily by area and by career type. It's not an awful assault of hideous colors or anything.

Monster.com offers a multi-parameter search, resume help, job-hunting tips, and the option to submit your resume to companies. It’s potentially powerful but they need to recruit more employers to provide decent search results. The search feature for Monster.com is pretty generic but functional and quick.

I have been registered with Monster.com since 1998 and have been on the net since 1995 and I can tell you that online job boards are not good resources for finding a job. You may read the advice columns and forums and otherwise stay updated on interviewing but don't expect to find a job from **any** online job board. It is not realistic particularly in the current downturned economy. In fact, the good paying jobs that are available go to the buddies of those existing employees at the company with the vacancy so get out from in front of the computer and go network among living beings with a pulse.

I was a customer of Monster.com from the business side. What once was a cutting edge company has grown too large for its own good. They are nice people, but completely incompetent when it comes to the regulations that companies need to comply with. They can't even provide reports in the way a company requests them to.

If you are looking for a job, I mean a real quality job, there are several places to turn to. Monster.com is not one of them. First, Monster is utilized mostly by temp. agencies, which acts as a middle person between you and the employer. The jobs they offer are often low paying and not very substantive. There is not much advancement, since most companies use temporary workers to fill leave of absences, usually to do work that others are unwilling to do.

Monster.com are pioneers in online recruitment and they have already gone through bad experiences. I couldn't imagine my friend getting recruited just 2 days after he posted his resume.

Monster.com is a good web service for the person who is seeking to find better employment. I've had my own Monster.com account now for about 2 months. The number of inquires that I received was very high at first, but now it has fallen sharply. I probably got between 5 and 10 inquires per day in the beginning, and now I only get 1 or 2 per day. So, needless to say, I haven't had the success I was looking for with this service.

Good Points Easy search, Excellent layout of search results, Scottish section. Bad Points Lack of opportunities - must be expensive to advertise there. 'm a careers adviser and when training clients to use jobsearch sites (yes it does need to be done!) I always go to Monster first as the least daunting and most attractively laid out.

Poorly designed user interface, Monster constantly attemps to sell premium services and third-party products. Posting my resume on Monster has resulted in receiving many email from employment and other agencies trying to sell their services and emails from questionable firms. Monster.com is a complete waste of time.

The strong marketing and brand image of Monster has made it the leading job board on the Internet. Becoming a Monster member and posting a resume is relatively easy. You are required to enter your basic demographic and educational data. Then you must input your resume. The disadvantage of using Monster is that you must have your resume in either text or HTML format. Overall, go to Monster to find a better job. If you are a qualified candidate, prepare to be annoyed that recruiters and headhunters are going to be calling you non-stop.

Great concept at Monster.com. Inspiring, helpful and it makes it fun to be jobhunting, however the feeling of sending of your cv not knowing whether the employer actually has opened your application, and not getting a mail when the position has been filled, leaves you feeling a bit blind.

Monster's still a good site but it's not the giant it used to be. They were the pioneers in the industry but now they're struggling, and on their 3rd ceo in the past 9 months. I'm told it's in part due to discounting on their products, not enough focus on product development, and until recently lack of a good customer service function.

I found my current excellent job through them, and I would recommend them to anyone. The web site is easy to use, and there are lots of job postings, although there are too many jobs, but that's also a good point.

the initial average was more than 5 per day and has now trickled down to 2-3 after 3 weeks. But their automated system seems to be senseless. My requirement was for a lady gynaecologist. 99% of the emails I got were about software and hardware engineers.

Nothing but good things to say about Monster.com. I posted my resume on the site and was contacted immediately. I have an Interview coming up!!! They have enhanced the site so much. One last note, check out the career advice section, there are so many useful articles!!

ON this basis, the site is ok. The design and layout are good and non-cluttered. However, there is a lot of spam by BPO jobs in almost every job category. However, I still feel that monster does not have enough industry contacts to get good quality of jobs. In short, this is a monster which will gulp your money down in seconds and will not give back anything in return.

this site is more than just a job search engine. It offers resume help and distribution, career advice, and networking capabilities. You get a free account with room for a resume, cover letters, and an online job application history to track your job search progress. You can also choose to use premium resume writing and publishing services for a small fee.

The only roles I have ever received have been from short term roles alone. The job boards are great to present your candidacy, but I wonder why it is only agents, rather than direct employers, who respond to the applications. I get mostly emails for what is NOT part of my profession or to sell me a phony part-time transfer agent (money launderer) role than anything worthy of consideration. At least 90% of "direct hire" postings have not as far as I am aware ever contact me - except of course, for the meaningless automated initial submittal confirmation that states the redundant "if your qualifications.....", and you know, that your expertise already matches..The common contacts received are more junk email selling something as far as I am concerned from my experience.

Good Points Global exposure (if you want it). Bad Points Too general Many of the recruiters do not read your details or understand what you are looking for. I did review jobs on their sites, but I rarely found roles that suited my skills and needs

Monster.com is a tool for getting and interview and a job. It may not be the defining factor for you but if you are looking for a job, you probably need every tool you can get your hands on. Give Monster.com a try. It can't hurt and it might help!

Ever since I started using Monster I get about 30 spam emails a day. I have gotten more junk calls about undisclosed company wanting to verify my application, oh yea and about 10 online colleges a week. All jobs I have applied for after contacting the company were filled. ( I do realize that is the companies responsiblity to update) My point is the only job I have gotten from Monster is unsubscribing from email list and telling junk callers I am not interested.

I liked them when the first came out, there were real companies on there trying to find hard working employees. Now it is just full of "work at home" pyramid schemes, priamerica, and temp services that will call you until you change your number. I look in the local newspaper before even thinking about that site.

Good Points Easy to use. Bad Points Questionable value. have received some thirty odd calls from people who saw my CV on the Monster job site. Not one of them has actually been a prospective employer. All contacts have been from agencies trawling through for candidates. Unfortunately, none of the agencies have talked to me about jobs which are commensurate with either my skills or experience.

Monster.com is one of the biggest job site around. At least in United State as far as I know. When you do browse on their site, they are very organize and have a lot of great information regarding companies and resume. The only major problem I have is ever since the site has become so popular, it's impossible to get a job with any of the company listed.

I visited that website and I did not find any sort of help in regard to bugs and errors with the site there are no FAQs, Help etc and the feedback form , is of no use , its just for covering the extra space on the website and enhancing the look of the website, there are no email links available as to whom should one contact for so and so purpose, only thing thats available is few contact numbers including one toll free number which no one picks up

information about the jobs, the career advice, how to give interviews, how to make resumes by the resume builder, getting job emailed you daily, preparing your agents, letters, cover letters, posting any questions or queries, and lots of other things, but the main attractive and interesting part is the database of nearly all countries of the world to choose a suitable job for u, and than applying online to that particular job, it is really great

let me tell you the inside story, whatever details are been mentioned in the resumes of individuals who hope to get a job out of it, like telephone number, mobile phone number, email ids etc. are been sold to companies that provide credit cards, home loans, car loans and so on and these companies inturn start calling the individuals who posted their resumes to get a job, this is pathetic and totally unethical way of doing business
