Slick marketing with friendly faces that greet you at the bank to suck you in to their high hidden costs.

intimate, friendly, convenient, e-time banker. Worthy of your trust.

This place has the best customer service. I would know, because I used to work here. The parking lot is a little small and San Bruno Avenue can be very bustling. I'm surprised that not a lot of people know about this location. But this is the very very very best bank. Even though I don't work there anymroe, I still do my business there. I used to work for other banks (ie Bank of America) and they don't care for their customers that much.

Just not too great like other banks. This is a small bank, and whenever I Get served here, counters also make mistakes with math and they say that it is 100% fine.. I always have to call up the manager.

I like some of Bank of the West's for the very fact that you can get paid with some of their cds as often as monthly. The premium money market is one of these examples. This is ideal if you want a premium rate for a specified time period.

Still the small bank atmosphere in many respects with lots of little advantages, like free checking and ATMs that can take out in increments of $5.00 rather than $20.00.

I have been a BOW customer for about 12 years now. I opened my account at the Lakeside branch, but I usually visit the Portola or the Westlake branch because it is convenient for work and home. I have a friend who works for BOW and he has directed me to other staff that has been helpful especially when I bought my home in 01. The only thing that I hear from others about BOW is that there isn't an abundance of ATMs unlike WF and BOA, but this has not swayed me from leaving and going with another financial institution.

This Commercial Federal branch on the corner of Pierce & Ken Caryl is small building, drive up lanes & staff-wise. I've had 3 counter people make mistakes with math, procedures and comments that were rude rather than good customer service. The "head" clerks were more well versed in customer service, in money management and in procedures possible with the bank. They corrected & apologized so I rated this branch satisfactory hoping my various trips were just unlucky with the tellers I had.

This branch of Commercial Federal Bank has a very small, independant back feel to it. It is not like the bigger branches that have 10+ tellers. This bank has about 4 teller slots total. The tellers are always very friendly and helpful. There is also a little area the kids love to sit down quickly to look at a book. And the tellers always make sure if there are suckers or other candy on hand that the kids are offered one. Super friendly bank with the convience of the larger bank.

Consider what is most important to you in your relationship with a bank, and decide: big bank, or an insured credit union?

I definitely don't recommend them. If you are a current customer, it is just a matter of time before it happens to you.
