Pros: Some of the best interest rates you can find, easy accounts set up Cons: None. The bottom line here is that I currently do online banking with ING Direct, and have used others before. HSBC offers one of the highest interest rates that you can find. Why not give them a try and earn more interest than you currently are at your local bank. I gave them a try, and I'm pleased I did.

Pros: Easy to use, exceptional interest rate, very secure. Cons: Takes a while to set up, takes a while to transfer funds between accounts. I highly recommend HSBC Direct. With just a few thousand dollars in the account, you can make enough money in interest each month to take a friend out to dinner.

Pros: Among the best savings interest rates available Cons: website, customer support, account setup feedback. I can definitely say that HSBC's better rates come at a price, and that price is mediocre customer service and a poorly designed website.

HSBC follows very secure procedures which sometimes are confusing for new customers, but their services are complete and they are competitive in their rates and free services.

I would have absolutely no problem opening a checking account with HSBC if there was an ATM/branch closer to my work, but as of now there isn't. have found HSBC to offer very competitive interest rates in comparison to the rest of the banking industry - something which is very important. Further, HSBC's online account management services - HSBCdirect.com - are easy to use and user friendly.
