)This bank is a joke. Their tellers don't know the difference between Sterling British Pounds and United States American Dollar. Get out of this bank immediately!!
↑ Back to topIn recently going over my bank statements, I found that TD Banknorth has taken aprx. $1085 dollars in fees from my account in the 90 days....which seems crazy to me since my account only overdrafted once in those 90 days. DO NOT TRUST THEM....CHANGE BANKS!! Working trying to get at least a portion of the money back, but of course they take their time getting back to me. Closing my account today!!!

TD Banknorth is a joke. They charged me $210.00 in overdraft fees when my account never once went negative until the fees were applied. This is the third time that I have had to call customer service to have them reverse fees that should have never been applied. I will never use this bank again nor would I recommend anyone use them. I hope that they get porked like they pork all their customers.
↑ Back to topJD. My son and I opened a Joint money market and CD account on Dec. 24 '08. It took weeks and weeks and weeks to get the checks, and he got the first statement on Feb. 12. This is after nearly a dozen phone calls. I got nothing but obfuscation and misinformation. Can you believe they told me they couldn't deliever checks or statements to a mailbox that didn't have a name on it? Even the main consumer service questioned that excuse!
↑ Back to topBank North is a good bank. However, be VERY careful. They play footsie with your transactions. They do not debit your account chronologically. They can switch from debiting your account from highest transaction to lowest, to processing checks first...there is no set way they do it. That leaves wiggle room to apply multiple transactions any way they want---especially if an over draft fee can be got. Let the customer beware! Their deposit agreement says they can basically do whatever they want with your account-close it or do whatever WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU. Ah the blessings of bank deregulation

Banknorth has a policy in which they will only issue payment coupons in a maximum of 60 coupons per package. If, however, you have a loan term of 66 months, for example, they will then mail you the additional 6 coupons separately. Unfortunately, there is nothing at all to indicate that this is their procedure.
