Terrible customer service, Horrendous check-cashing/deposit policies. Stay as FAR away from UBOC as possible!

Union Bank makes that easy with stellar online Web Banking. My account information is always up-to-date, they have online Bill Pay, I can transfer funds, view up to 90 DAYS transaction history, etc

Union Bank of California accused me of splitting up multiple cash transactions to avoid the federal reporting requirement of $10,000. The only problem is I hadn't made any cash transactions since opening the account. When I finally did do a cash transaction (an ATM withdrawal of $80), they closed my account. You can read the details at consumerproblems.wordpress.com

Union Bank is the best main street bank, but main street banks suck.

When I opened an account at UBOC in Davis, I was suprised that the bank operated like those I remembered from when I was a child - people who work there recognize me and know me by name (I don't go in their often!), they take time answering my questions, and I don't get nickeled and dimed for each and every service. UBOC is truly a full-service bank, and they provide excellent customer service. Furthermore, UBOC takes additional security measures with your account (for example, the ABA routing number is different for electronic payments than what is listed on your checks), which gives me additional assurance regarding my account. The only complaint I have is that there aren't enough ATMs around to easily get cash.

I put down the 20% and set up automatic payments, and so the term and rate i got were unbelievable. Great to work with, really made everything easy.

My debit card number was recently used for a fraudulent transaction that sent me over the limit. I'm now being charged for all of the regular charges I actually made before hand but posted after the fraudulent charge went over. I'm still waiting to get those waived.

Their service is so bad, nobody would respond to my emails. They overcharged me significantly, would not respond to my issues until the charges went to collections. Collections eventually admitted the mistake, but it was too late on the credit bureaus. They nicked my 800 credit rating down to 705 because their service is TERRIBLE.

In the past 5 years Union Bank has been the only bank to make me want to actually bank.If there is ever a problem, I only need to call.

There are many other banks out there that offer much more to customers. UBOC lacks locations. Watch out for charges and changes on your account.

Don't do this to yourself--there are plenty of customer-service-oriented banks out there who won't charge you for every last thing while providing far superior service.

I know that there are worse banks out there, but I also know that there are an awful lot better ones too.

I use Union Bank for both personal and business, including a 401(k) account. The number of branches are limited but adequate, and the customer service has been adequate.

Poor all the way around. Scam for profit, slow help, neglect using common sense in transactions for a profit and cover it up with the excuse of "banking protocols"
