If you must do your income taxes, TurboTax makes it as much fun as possible. Although it may be possible to do simple tax returns manually, TurboTax speeds up the process, eliminates clerical errors, and enables EFiling.

I have used this product for the last several years with good results. However, this year, I think it had some major software glitches. I was unable to complete my state tax. I do not think I will be using Turbo Tax again

The program is good, not great, but the avariciousness of the company was offputting.

Pros: Very fast and selfexplanatory. If you have all the W2's, K1's, etc. when you start, you can get it done in less than 1 hour. Cons: If you want your return done electronically, then TurboTax routes it thru Santa Barbara Savings and Trust. Not only do you pay for the Federal cost, another fee for State filing PLUS the fee to do it electronically thru Santa Barbara is EXORBITANT.

Pros: Imports from TT 2007 and from many financial instutions. Cons: Too many updates; can't get it right the first time! Big glitch in Ohio program, included with TT Deluxe. Less user friendly than previous versions. Ease of moving around seems more complicated. MAJOR glitch in State (Ohio) program.

Pros: Simple to complete forms. Cons: Software, download & credit card payment issues. On top of all that, program freezes with windows XP & good al' VISTA. Terrible automated customer service & 30 mins + of waiting time to speak to tech rep. State files & credit card transactions fail, which both require you to call customer service & tech for support.

Pros: Easy, Fast, Accurate, Ask right questions and now includes efile for 'free' Cons: I have always done my taxes close to deadline but due to personal reasons I had to do them early this year. I had trouble using the automated update this year. This has never happened before.

Turbo tax is just great if you have a very very simple return. It falls on its face when faced with difficult or complex tax situations. The other problem with the program is that it generates a lot of useless paperwork.

If you change any figures, you MUST go through the whole section where you made the change. Also you cannot see or print the tax forms themselves unless you pay the $14.95 on the basic

I used to willingly pay extra for TurboTax's slighty better user interface, but Intuit's greedy play to essentially double its software's cost just four years after it tried something similar with its poor "antipiracy" limitednumberofreturns technology offends me deeply.

I think TurboTax was a tiny bit easier to use but TaxAct proved to be more accurate. Example: TurboTax would not recogonize that I obtained a previous tax refund and left it off on line 10 of my Federal but it did appear as income on my state.

Pros: If you go to work every day and then come home, this is perfect for you. If you don't own a home, consult on the side, were affected by a disaster, had a health event, etc., thsi is perfect for you. Cons: I bought this software as a due diligence check, to make sure my tax professional (CPA) was getting m my max return. I expected a slight variance but the difference was huge Turbotax return was $512, and the CPA's was $4363.00 you do the math.

Rebate itís just a waste of time or and fraud, whatever it is this will be the last time I am buying $hit from this Aholes. The software is not that bad is the way intuit does it busyness that sucks.

I was just about to purchase Turbo Tax at 41.99, then read the reviews about the 35.00 per State tax return.

I absolutely love using Turbo Tax to do my taxes. I used to go to H & R Block to do my taxes, but their prices have gotten way too expensive for me.

TurboTax allows you to prepare and print an unlimited number of returns at no additional fee. Furthermore, we increased to 5 (the maximum allowed by the IRS) the number of federal returns you can efile at no additional fee.

Now that Intuit has realized the error in charging their customers $10 to print a return, they need to reduce their 33% price increase before I will consider purchasing TurboTax for 2008 taxes. I may be an 8 year customer of TurboTax, but I have no problem in using other programs

Pros: 1 Ability to import data from financial institutions e.g. Fidelity 2 Tracks your audit risk 3 Transfers last year?s tax Info 4 Shows your tax refund in real time on top of the screen Cons: None so far. TurboTax continues to improve, I've been using Turbo tax preparation software for about 5 years, although more expensive, it worth every penny.

The software is intrusive and constantly trying to sell you something else. The attempt by Intuit to make people pay to print additional returns is the last straw. They don't respect their customers and are constantly trying to chisel another few dollars out of them in some sneaky way.

The good we won the battle on print charges. The basic interface for selecting Income & Deduction categories remains unchanged from last year. The bad Nagging registration screen under the guise of Taxpayer Update Info.

I've been using TurboTax for as long as they've been around, but they've lost me as a customer for good. I complained about the added fees and then canceled my automatic subscription. They wrote back with a form letter justifying the added expenses, canceled my subscription, and showed no concern at losing a longtime customer.

Intuit has tried a stealth tactic to jack up the total cost immensely without notifying prospective buyers. I'm not buying TT this year. They are crooks, plain and simple.

In my opinion, even though Intuit backtracked (and they've now entered damage control mode), they lost me for life I've now moved on to an alternative.

After spending over 3 hours downloading updates, having them fail to install; staying online with an off shore chat that ended with a disconnect, I feel it is time for a few competitors to surface! There is no way to call anyone to complain about the faulty customer service and flawed product performance.

The Turbo Tax software is extremely easy to use. It walks you through step by step. If you are unsure along the way you can easily click to read the "help" topic for the area you are on. If you are really stuck they do have live online assistance available. Another great feature is the review. The review catches any errors or mistakes you may have made and gives you the option of correcting them

I have used Turbotax for many years and will again this year. The 3star rating reflects a concern that the product has a confusing new feature this year along with a stiff price increase.

My original review was deleted. I am a CPA and was a loyal TT user since the days of Chipsoft. The latest changes are unbearable: high cost, return printing restrictions unless you want to pay more to print additional returns...etc. etc.

Now Turbo Tax 2008 will work as before, allowing printing additional returns for no charge, and they have matched their competition in providing five free efiled federal returns with the product. They even got Amazon to alert consumers at the top of the product page: "FREE: 5 federal efiles and unlimited printed returns included with every TurboTax 2008 product."

Pros: Easy to understand, great extra "help" explanations, If you already use their quicken program, data flows from 1 to the other without a hitch, Cons: No live help. Turbotax Brings me through the miserable experience of calculating & reporting taxes quickly & accurately through a very, very easy to understand format, language & guidance (which I need)

I was angry with all the new prices increases that Intuit was trying to push down its loyal customers throats. this is not the first or last time that Turbo tax will try to pull a fast one

I've used TurboTax for years, and always had problems with it. Always had to pay to efile, price goes up every year, and you have to buy it again, full price (rather than an update/upgrade) every year.

I am very disappointed that turbotax would add these additional fees, in these uncertain economic times.

Pros: really user friendly and just about idiot proof, the import ability for w2's is nice also Cons: install time can be long while waiting for the inital update depending on your connection speed, but well worth the wait, all in all i am very pleased with turbo tax and it makes a yearly chore a breeze

he product itself is pretty good but the greed at Intuit is unbearable. In 2005, TT eliminated the free efile coupon and raised the price. Now in 2008, TT again raises the price, charges for 1 efile (weather you use it or not) and limits the number of returns to only 1.

I have been doing my taxes since 1950, both individual and business. At one point I was a certified California tax preparer. I found TurboTax was usually a disappointment and a few years back TaxCut made a gross error carrying forward a stock loss. I have found TaxAct to be everything a person needs, check it out.

If any question arises from your online tax form submission, the company providing the "service" will not recognize your audit defense account in time to do any good. Turbo Tax "help" services are focused on deflecting all criticisms, not solving problems.

Ive been using TurboTax for the Mac for the past three or four years withut any issue. Importing the previous year's file is painless and quick. The questions can get a bit redundant and tedous, but I suppose they're necessary to make sure that nothing is missed. Overall, it has been a fine product for quick and accurate tax filing.†

Intuit continues to increase the price it charges for TurboTax. Without any notice, they now will not allow me to print a tax return for my children or parents unless I pay $10.00 additional per account. Also I am forced to pay for eFile although I plan to mail my return.

I was upset enough that Turbotax presented us with a 33% price increase and tried to sneak in the $10 extra printing surcharge. TurboxTax Deluxe just had two SIGNIFICANT functional takeaways which require us to buy even more expensive versions of their products.

Pros: It s an easy program with good instructions. Very good for the novice. Cons: A little costly but well worth it. I have been using Turbo Tax , since version 3, for many years and it has never failed to provide an accurate tax return.
